School Closures:

In the event of an unplanned school closure due to heating failure, severe weather, major absence of staff etc the following procedure will be implemented.

  • A decision will be shared with parents by 8am at the latest, where possible, if the school needs to close.
  • Parents will be sent a message via the parent hub.
  • Listen to Ridings FM for updates with John Tolson on air from 6am, on their website  www.ridingsfm.co.uk/news/school-closures/ or via their FREE app.
  • A list of school closures will be displayed on the Wakefield council website:

We will however make every attempt to keep school open in all but the most severe weather.
